Ruth J. Romesberg, 77, of Rockwood, was called home October 29, 2016 at In Touch Hospice House, Somerset. Born January 6, 1939 in Johnstown, she is the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna M. (Mayko) Janus, Sr of Johnstown. Preceded in death by her brother Joseph J. Janus, Jr and grandson, James Romesberg. Survived by her husband, Samuel J. Romesberg, Jr., to whom she was married 56 years; children: Amy Romesberg of Frederick, MD, Samuel J. Romesberg, III and wife Ruthie of Rockwood: grandchildren: Sara Sloan, Tyler Sloan, Chris Sloan, Katy Sloan, Abby Romesberg, and Emma Romesberg. Ruth is a 1956 graduate of Conemaugh Township High School and a 1960 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She worked at Rockwood Area School District and Windber Area School District until her retirement as a Home Economics teacher. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, camping, beaches, swimming and spending time with her family throughout her life. She is a long-time member of the Trinity Reform Church, Rockwood where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 4 under the direction of Pastor Joseph Penick. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, Rockwood on Thursday, November 3. She will be laid to rest at the Rockwood IOOF Cemetery.
